The Building Department of the City of Oxford would like our citizens and builders to know that building permits can be purchased over the phone with a credit/debit card. Permit applications can be emailed to the Building Department with payment over the phone. All inspections should be called in when they are ready.
All questions regarding zoning, signage and building can be answered over the phone or by email. All signs have to be approved by submitting the designs by email before a permit can be issued. If you have any questions regarding this please contact Mike Roberts at 256-831-9685. Below are links available to assist you in permitting and zoning:
If you are interested in opening a business in an existing building, you will need an inspection prior to obtaining a business license. Below is the link to the business inspection form that will need to be filled out and returned to the Building Department.
