Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

Come out on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics! Meet at Simmons Park at 8:30am, and the run will begin shortly at 9am. Address: 400 Main St, Oxford, AL, 36203.
We invite law enforcement officers, support staff, and members of the community who support these groups to join us in this event! Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the run time. There is no registration fee, but we ask that everyone purchase a Torch Run t-shirt to participate! Dri-fit/Cotton Shirts are $15 (XXL and bigger are $20).

Armed Forces Day Flag Placement Ceremony

On Saturday, May 18th at 10:30am, the American Legion Post 111 will be sponsoring the annual Flag Placement Ceremony.
We will meet at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery where we will be honoring all the past veterans by placing flags at their grave sites. The public is invited to assist in the placement of the flags. The SAKS High School Band Brass Ensemble will play the ARMED FORCES MEDLEY as well as THE OXFORD HIGH SCHOOL HONOR CHOIR sing the National Anthem: Special Songs By Amy Moore; Taps for this ceremony will be performed by Annie Ingram. Also, the Alabama Artillery Group will be sounding the three round volley.
This is a precursor to the Memorial Day Services that will follow as memorialized across America.
