***PUBLIC NOTICE FOR DISPATCHER EXAMINATION***
The Oxford Civil Service Board is now accepting applications for the position of Dispatcher/Communications Officer. The starting salary for this position is $14.76 an hour. You must be at least 19 years old to apply and have a valid driver's license. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. You must be willing to work non-standard hours. Applications may be obtained at the Civil Service Office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or you may download an application from the menu below. Remember a copy of your driver's license must accompany your application. All applications will be held confidential within the Civil Service Board and the Oxford Police Department. The deadline for applications will be Friday, September 21st, 2018.
Applications for all positions are always welcome and will be held in the Civil Service office for two years. You may download an application by clicking the desired position below. You may also come in to the Civil Service Board office at 600 Stanley Merrill Drive, Oxford, Alabama 36203 to obtain an application. Please remember when mailing an application for Police Officer, Fire Fighter, Corrections Officer or Communications Officer, a copy of your driver's license is required.
Requirements for Fire Fighter, Police Officer, Corrections Officer and/or Communications Officer applications:
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE TO BE A POLICE OFFICER
YOU MUST BE 19 YEARS OF AGE TO BE A FIRE FIGHTER, CORRECTIONS OFFICER OR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
YOU MUST BE A LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF ALABAMA
YOU MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
YOU MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED
