Line of Duty Deaths

Firefighter Martin Boyles died of a heart attack while fighting a house fire on Choccolocco Street in January of 1972.

Sergeant Robert Hendricks was killed in an auto accident while responding to a call in October of 1978.  The call ended up being a false alarm.  Station #2 was named for Sgt. Hendricks when it opened in 1983.

Captain Lynn Elliott died of complications from lung cancer.  Cancer has been added as a line of duty illness by the State of Alabama. Captain Elliott was also a Sergeant with the Anniston Fire Department.  Captain Elliott died on June 18, 2005.
