The City Council works as the 'legislative arm' of the city government. The Council works with the Mayor to provide governmental oversight of the city.
The Oxford City Council holds two regularly scheduled meetings each month. City Council Meetings are held in the City Hall Council Chambers on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Council members are elected 'at large' for four year terms. There are no districts or wards. The next election will be held in 2020.
