HEALTH INSURANCE

LIFE INSURANCE

The City of Oxford purchases life insurance for all full-time employees with SunLife Assurance Company of Canada. Effective date of coverage is between 60 and 90 days after hire date. RETIREMENT PLAN

The City of Oxford is a member of the Employees’ Retirement Systems of Alabama (RSA). The mission of RSA is to serve the interests of members by preserving the excellent benefits and soundness of the Systems at the least expense to the state of Alabama and all Alabama tax-payers. The RSA-1 Deferred Compensation Plan began October 1, 1987 and allows members of the RSA and other eligible employees to defer of salary, thereby deferring payment of taxes on that income. HOLIDAYS

New Year’s, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

VACATION/SICK LEAVE

All employees holding regular full-time positions shall be allowed to earn vacation with pay in accordance with length of service.  All employees holding regular full-time positions shall be allowed to earn sick leave at the rate of six and two-thirds (6.67) hours per month to a maximum of forty-five (45) days.  All employees earn five working days vacation leave when he/she has been employed for one full year. After two (2) years employees earn ten working days, after five (5) years employees earn fifteen working days, and over ten (10) years employees earn twenty working days.
